Back to college

I'm back to college for my 2nd level of Degree. Last week I had an orientation which was quite similar like we had before lol. Just the the orientation is more for the first time comers who straight away slotted into the 2nd level of Degree.

This semester schedule is "great". I'll be having 2 days of long hours break out of the 5 days... About 3-4 hours break a day. *Sigh* I dislike too long hours break even though we are able to go to cyber-cafe and spend our time there lol. Burn more money instead. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to my subjects in this level even though the title of the subjects sound killing.

Went to watch The Dark Knight, or also know as Batman. A couple of Ee Leen's friends said the show was awesome and we wanted to check the show out next week or something. But then thanks to Jeremy who was able to buy the tickets 2 hours earlier before the show for us.

Overall the movie was suspense... Where you won't know what's gonna happen next especially when the Joker initiate all his plans. Apart from that there were some twisting parts, and also some I don't quite understand what was happening. I like the Joker though on how he acted in the movie. "Why so serious?" lol... His acting was very natural, but unfortunately I heard and read the news that he, Heath Ledger died early this year due to overdose of drugs.

After a week of troubleshooting my network, finally my server: jonloh.hopto.org is back online and the CS server is running as it used to be now, which I hope by tomorrow the modem will not be burned... again.

Unfortunately the CS tournament has to be postponed all the way till the end of the year, providing that I won't be busy at the end of the year (Which I doubt so).

This is what my dad did:

  • Replaced 4 modems (Yeah 4 modems were fried. Confirmation was done when the computer couldn't get an auto generated IP from the modem)
  • Bought 2 modems (Keeping an extra in case one of the modem burns again)
  • Replaced the telephone cable (Suspected that the phone cable may be the culprit for the burning modems)
  • Replaced D-Link router (The previous router that I had, which was also a D-Link was burned too. Confirmation was done when the router couldn't generate an IP for the connected computers)

Heh, networking isn't easy man, even though it is good when one line can be shared by many. But when it comes to problems and troubleshootings, hoho... You will be surprised~
