First day of college was awesome; Went to college about 9.30am to sign in for the course and get some documentations. After about 15 minutes, I headed back home.

And today I have wasted 3 hours to fix my Logitech Classic 200 keyboard. Found out that I didn't fix two small parts in the correct way. Still I'm glad that I finally cleaned my whole room, which in took me about 6 hours in total.

The lyric.jonloh.net - Version 2 is now officially up and running. Looking forward to add more functionality which will help alot for songleaders in choosing songs and printing them out easily.

And I am also officially starting my last year of college tomorrow. No more holiday =(

My little side project under construction:

lyric.jonloh.net - Version 2

Currently in the process for transferring the songs and chords from the current lyric.jonloh.net to the revamped site.

The main features you will see in that site:

  • Auto transpose key - This will definitely save a lot of your time in getting the correct key for the songs that you want to sing.
  • Music video and tutorials - Several songs have their own YouTube videos, so that songleaders are able to listen to the song and musicians are also able to learn the tutorials that are available for the song.

This main purpose to establish this project is to save my time from doing song transpose for songleaders. Check it out ;)

And yes, I'm aware that I can end up like pwarchive.com; Copyright issue. If that happens, I would need to make it really private or obtain the copyright license.

My 2 and a half months holiday is coming to an end. It felt like I just started my holiday last month.

It was a great long holiday for me to settle quite a number of stuff, especially in my projects. The biggest one would be revamping Hidden Street site into a new web system where other people are able to contribute their information on the game in our site. Other than that

Hmmm, and I don't think I have any other things to blog; Either I kinda forget what I did for this past few months, or I am just a lazy and bad blogger. I think I'm the latter XD

The interesting thing I remembered was when my parents went to Phuket, Thailand recently for the church leaders' retreat. Last year, my house was infested with maggots when my parents were away for the retreat and this time, my house was infested with alot of ants. I really do not know where did they come from, but I believe that every time my parents are away, there is big chance that my house will get infested by something. At least this time the ants wasn't as horror as the maggots :)

That's all for now. Will do my best to keep this blog updated. When you have a free time and love to know about the food and places in Malaysia (and certain countries), check out http://flavalogy.com.

If you are using a Content Management System, especially Drupal on Apache, PHP and MySQL in your Windows web server, you may realize that the page loading speed isn't as fast when you put it up on a Linux web server, even though your desktop has probably an i7.

Kah Thong found out that the loading page speed has to do with the database engine; In Windows, the engine storage type is default to INNODB while Linux's default storage engine type is MyISAM. You will find that the loading page will be much faster when you alter the tables from INNODB to MyISAM. Technically I do not know why, but I believe there are tons of explanations online.

So yeah, this is so much useful when it comes to coding a Drupal theme. Try it out :)

"The domain name jonloh.com is for sale by webnamesolution.com. Hurry and take advantage of this limited time special offer $199.95 USD."

Meh
, not worth it...

Today I receive a quite interesting e-mail, where a company who sells premium website domain name informed me that jonloh.com is going to be up for sale. Not sure how much they are willing to sell, but hope it's not that expensive.

If I can get hold of the name, I guess I will do up something for the domain. Probably move my lyric.jonloh.net to jonloh.com.

Yes, I have successfully updated my iPhone from 2.2 firmware to 3.0. It's quite a simple thing to do... All a big thank you to the awesome iPhone DevTeam! This is what I did on my Intel i7 with Windows Vista:

  1. Back-up your SMS, Contacts, etc. using iTunes 8.2.
  2. Click on your iPhone in iTunes, Shift + click on Restore and restore it with the ipsw 3.0.
  3. Once that is done, get RedSn0w (Ask Google) and execute the program.
  4. Just follow a bunch of simple steps, where you need Bootloader 3.9 and 4.6 also.
  5. And then, you're done!

See, told you it's quite simple. For those who are having trouble with their updates being stucked at 'Downloading jailbreak data' with the loading icon moving, I believe it is because you are still on the old firmware. To me, I solved this problem by upgrading to 3.0 using the iTunes restore first, and then perform the update.

Try it, and goodluck to you if you are attempting it :)

Finally my 3rd year of my uni life is over! Another year to go and I am not sure what to expect. The only thing I know for sure that I have to complete a final year project (FYP), where we will have a year to complete it. So I shall enjoy my 2 and a 1/2 months holiday first.

Also, the new iPhone 3.0 operating system is released. It's awesome that the Dev-Team manage to release the program to unlock/jailbreak the new OS. Time to try it out on my iPhone... Wish me luck!
